Southern Area Framework Plan Zoning Update
VP Liz Murray attended a SAF Plan zoning meeting where zoning shared proposed zones
No major changes, most areas are down zoning.
ex Waldorf or Girls Inc - These are examples of legal non-conforming use but if they ever leave their current locations, the zoning of the parcel changes to residential.
Neighborhood Officer Elections
Due to ongoing legal matters regarding the 2022 neighborhood officer election, the 2024 election cycle will be delayed.
To ensure continuity across the 99 neighborhood associations, Community Resource Services has requested notification of any current vacancies due to death or resignation. They also ask that current officers remain in their positions until the election cycle is completed.
Camille and Kayla plan to resign, Liz is evaluating and has not yet come to a decision.
Any vacancies due to resignation will be filled as per Section VI (D) of the Citizen’s Participation Plan (CPP): Special Elections to Fill Vacancies:
If the president’s position becomes vacant, the vice president will automatically assume the role.
Vacancies for vice president or secretary will be filled through an election by secret ballot, conducted by the president. The president must notify the Community Resource Services Division of the election results within 48 hours.

CAB - Liz Murray
Short Term Rentals
Vote at CAB passed to recommend no short term rentals in the city of Birmingham.
Scott Burnett and Ryan Andrews shared their perspective and experience as owners of a residence they use as a short term rental to meeting attendees. They shared their opposition to an outright ban of short term rentals and instead promoted sensible regulations such as paid permits.

The Station at Crestline Construction
Several neighbors raised concerns about effects of construction for The Station at Crestline, including cement being spilled onto Clairmont Ave and 52nd Street S.
Crestwood Pool
Luke Hanson raised concern again that the pool at Crestwood Park. Ms. Bailey confirmed she relayed his request and was told it would be drained in October.
