Short-term Rentals Resolution
Highland Park Neighborhood Association shared a resolution they recently passed recommending the City pass an ordinance prohibiting the operation of short-term rental properties in all residential zoning districts within the city limits.
HPNA CAB proposed sharing the resolution at other Birmingham neighborhood meetings in order for residents to vote on neighborhood opinion of the resolution.
Councilor Abbott encouraged the neighborhood association to consider sharing an opinion on the resolution via a neighborhood vote.
Meeting attendees discussed both the pros and cons of long term rentals and whether to take action as a neighborhood during the August 2024 neighborhood meeting. No motion was made to vote on an opinion for the resolution.
