    • July 27, 2026 meeting minutes were read to meeting attendees.

  3. New Business

    • Approve August 24, 2026 Agenda

      • Motion to approve the agenda for the Jul 27, 2026 neighborhood association meeting was made by Maureen Pezzamenti and seconded by Tim Lyons.

        • Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

    • Approve meeting minutes for July 27, 2026

      • Motion to approve minutes was made by Tim Lyons and seconded by Renee Tucker.

        • Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

  4. Reports

    • Police Report

      • Birmingham Police

        • They’ve had some break-ins near Anytime Fitness.

        • They’re trying to tackle speeding on Crestwood & Oporto Madrid.

        • Neighbor brought up people parking in yards on 11th Ave & 58th St.

        • Neighbor brought up issues with a POD & a paved front yard on 58th.

        • For people who have mental illness, they work with JBS Mental Health and UAB.

        • Updated on house on Clairemont

  5. City Representatives

    • India Bailey, Chief of Staff for Hunter Williams, Councilor, District 2

      • The Southern Area Framework Plan had to be rescheduled due to incorrect advertising. It will likely be in October.

  6. Presentation

    • Bethany Fattore for the Ad Hoc Zoning Committee

      • The subcommittee met with Kim Spoerl (Zoning Administrator for PEP) and Randall Minor (lawyer for Redeemer) to discuss proposed Q conditions.

      • They’re moving forward with the ZAC meeting on September 1. While the CSNA vote is still “no”, they are working to get agreement with the subcommittee before they go to the Planning & Zoning Committee in early October. The goal is to come to an agreement before the September 2026 meeting.

      • The city has stated that the request for a site plan wasn’t reasonable.

      • The zoning committee went line-by-line over the restricted uses. During the meeting with Kim Spoerl, there were several items she suggested that we permit, all of which the committee had already agreed to permit.

      • Neighbor spoke about her concern about a proposed amphitheater and other noise issues related to the church.

        • Amphitheaters are going to be denied with the rezoning.

      • Neighbor brought up concern about height restriction.

        • There is a height restriction proposed by Redeemer.

      • The church has requested that a K-8 school be permitted.

    • Neighbor spoke about how much he appreciates the volunteer work done by the neighborhood association.

    1. Dan Christiansen’s post “Birmingham's Streets are Killing Us” was brought up while reading the minutes.

    • Previous brush pickup dates - Aug 12, 2026 & Aug 26, 2026

    • Recycling pickup dates - Sep 3, 2026 and Sep 17, 2026 (preceding days for the western section with trash pickup on Wednesdays).
