    • Approve Aug 26, 2024 Agenda

      • Motion to approve the agenda for the Jul 27, 2026 neighborhood association meeting was made by Tim Lyons and seconded by Larry Myers.

        • Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

    • Approve meeting minutes for Apr 27, 2026 and Jun 29, 2026

      • Motion to approve minutes was made by Maureen Pezzamenti and seconded by Larry Myers.

        • Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

  4. Reports

    • CAB - Elizabeth Murray

      • City is looking for people to apply for BOLD (Building Opportunities for Lasting Development) grants. Deadline August 18, 2026

      • City is offering mosquito larvae tablets to reduce mosquitos

      • Dan Christiansen (Pres. of Central City NA) gave a presentation about a neighbor killed on 1st Ave N, which is controlled by ALDoT.

  5. City Representatives

    • India Bailey, Chief of Staff for Hunter Williams, Councilor, District 2

      • Cresthill Road: The speed bumps are in BDoT’s queue to put back in place.

      • The city council is going to vote on an ordinance regulating camping in public rights-of-way.

      • Neighbor brought up issue of a dead tree on the Clairmont trail: JeffCo Greenways comes out every 2 weeks. They’re working with an arborist to discuss what trees may need to be removed.

      • Neighbor asked about clearing the right-of-way on Crestwood Blvd as trees have been falling on the blvd: It’s an ALDoT road.

    • Tony Diliberto, Director of Community Engagement for Josh Vasa, Councilor, District 3

      • Spoke on D3 Summerfest, which raised funds for school supplies. They were able to donate about 80-85 pre-packed bookbags full of supplies.

  6. Presentation

    • Brandon Fattore, speaking for Greater Crestwood Inc., spoke about CrestFest, with the goal of raising $80-100k for swings at Crestwood Park that meet ADA compliance.

      • Currently at about $15,000 raised. 

      • 2026 CrestFest is November 7. 

      • They requested CSNA to donate to the festival.

      • Motion to donate $2000 to sponsor CrestFest made by Tim Lyons. Seconded by Larry Myers.

        • Motion passed with unanimous consent. 

    • Representatives from Redeemer Community Church on rezoning the former Trinity Hospital site from QMU-H to C-2.

      • Current QMU-H does not allow for setbacks and all buildings would need a variance or be built directly along Montclair or 52nd St.

      • The conceptual plan is not an actual site plan.

      • A list of changes was mailed out, showing the change in uses from QMU-H to C-2.

      • Birmingham’s CPP (Citizens’ Participation Plan) outlines that the city wants to get feedback from the neighborhood before things like rezoning occurs.

      • Randall Minor spoke about why Redeemer is requesting the change and the issues with trying to develop mixed-use high on a topographically challenging location.

      • They are requesting to vote tonight, straight up or down on approving the rezoning straight to C-2 without Q conditions.

      • A neighborhood voiced concern against a C-2 without conditions.

      • Further discussion from the neighborhood about the rezoning.

      • Motion made to request approving the zoning change to C-2 made by Bethany Fattore. Judge Brown seconded the motion.

        • The vote was 20 in favor and 24 opposed. Motion did not pass.

      • Motion made by Bethany Fattore to create an ad-hoc committee, with the goal to work with Redeemer to work on qualifications. Seconded by Larry Myers.

        • The vote was 28 in favor with 0 opposed. Motion passed.

  7. Announcements

    • AARP Health Fair - 10 to 2 PM on Tuesday, August 18 at the Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham Crossplex

    • Brush pickup dates - Jul 29, 2026

    • Recycling pickup dates - Aug 6, 2026 and Aug 20, 2026 (preceding days for the western section with trash pickup on Wednesdays.
