      • Motion to approve the agenda for the Nov 25, 2024 neighborhood association meeting was made by Timothy Hall and seconded by Renee Tucker.

    • Approve meeting minutes for Oct 28, 2024

      • Motion to approve minutes was made by Renee Tucker and seconded by Therese Bynam. Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

    • CAB - Elizabeth Murray

      • Elizabeth Murray, President of the Crestwood Community made a report of the CAB meeting on November 18, 2024.

        • The city is starting a new commission on crime and is hoping to have a report done by the end of December. It is headed up by former Police Commissioner AC Roper. Also, they are conducting a survey and the QR code for the survey was made available. 

        • City Councilor Darrell O'Quinn spoke to the CAB and gave an update on the Short-term rental issue. They are considering allowing STR in residential areas by lottery, as well as in mixed-use zones. Nothing is finalized yet.

        • The city is catching up from having the security breach.

  6. City Representatives

    • Hunter Williams, Councilor - District 2: not present

    • Valerie A. Abbott, Councilor - District 3: not present

  7. School Board

    • Neonta Williams, District 2: not present

    • Mary Boehm, District 3

      • Birmingham City Schools (BCS) went from a grade of 72 last year to a 74 this year. The system schools went from 15 Fs to 7. We had a few more D’s because of those moving up from F. However, in general, the improvement is positive.

      • There was an Altec Innovation Challenge. Southampton K8 was awarded $10k for a hygiene hub, which will be set up in Pratt City. It will provide feminine hygiene products and diapers to that community.

      • We also, sadly, lost one student, Gerald Andre Lomax, a senior at JO, was killed on the campus of Woodlawn after a basketball game.

  8. Announcements

    • Brush pickup dates - TBA

    • Recycling/garbage pickup dates were not definitively announced since there is expected change in dates due to the holidays.
