  1. Read & Approve Previous Meeting Minutes - February 2022

    • February 2022 meeting minutes were read to meeting attendees.

      • Motion to approve minutes was made by Renee Tucker and seconded by Vincent Solfronk.

        • Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

  2. New Business

    • Zoning Variance Request (ZBA2022-00011) - 5556 12th Ave S

      • Resident Jordan Middleton (represented by John Forney) has requested a variance for their property at 5556 12th Ave S.

        • If granted, the variance would allow the front yard of the property to be setback at 36.10 feet instead of the 30 foot required setback.

        • The property owners need the variance to build a front porch and close in the existing carport.

      • Motion to support variance zoning request ZBA2022-00011 was made by Elizabeth Murray and seconded by Vincent Solfronk.

        • Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

  3. Candidates

    • Alisha Ruffin May - Candidate for Circuit Court Judge, Place 20

    • Ms. May was allowed 3 minutes to introduce herself to the neighborhood and answer any questions about her campaign.

    • Adrienne Powell - Candidate for Circuit Court Judge, Place 23

      • Ms. Powell was allowed 3 minutes to introduce herself to the neighborhood and answer any questions about her campaign.

      • CMC Steel permit renewal

        • Public comment period is February 27, 2022 through April 12, 2022.

        • An electronic copy of the draft permit, engineering review, and the permit application is available from the Department's website.

      • Not present.

    • Police - Jessica Burton

      • Reported one residential burglary and one auto theft in Eagle View apartments.

      • A home on the 1500 block of Clairmont Ave had a break in via an unlocked door.

      • Ms. Burton recommended replacing standard strike plate screws with longer screws to decrease the chances of your door being kicked in.

        • March 31st, 7:00 PM - Bards & Brews April Fools Slam at Cahaba Brewing Company.

        • April 7, 2022 6:00 PM - "A Novel Tasting" Fundraiser at the Central Library downtown will feature a tasting of wines, craft beers, and locally distilled spirits.

      • Public Meeting on council redistricting at the Birmingham Crossplex on March 29th at 5:30 PM. Residents can view the Redistricting Map information here.
