  1. Read & Approve Previous Meeting Minutes - May2022

    • May 2022 meeting minutes were read to meeting attendees.

      • Motion to approve minutes was made by Paul Rich and seconded by Patricia Todd.

        • Motion was approved by unanimous consent.

  2. Reports

    • Officer Reports

      • Transitioning to in-person meetings

        • The next CSNA meeting on July 25th will be in-person at Crestwood Tavern.

        • A reminder will be sent out prior to the meeting.

      • CSNA Email list sign up form

        • If you’d like to receive emails about upcoming neighborhood meetings or other relevant information, fill out this form to be added to our email outreach list.

      • Neighbor’s Night Out

      • SeeClickFix App

        • SeeClickFix is a 311 request and work management app that the City has implemented.

        • Neighbors can download the app on the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

    • Fire

      • Not present.

    • Police

      • Not present.

    • Birmingham Library - Vincent Solfronk

      • Two library locations will be impacted by the World Games, and will be closed during the event.

        • Downtown

        • Avondale

      • Check out BPLOnline.org for library events and program offerings.

    • Public Works - Arthur Wilder

      • Flooding issue on 12th Avenue South

        • Samantha Chodavarapu has had major flooding at her residence at 5701 12th Ave South. Issue has been reported to 311 and Birmingham Storm Water division but has not yet been resolved.

      • Stacy Gordon reported storm drains around the neighborhood with concrete covers in disrepair.

      • To report public works issues to Mr. Wilder, call 205-254-2061 or email arthur.wilder2@birminghamal.gov.

    • Community Resource Office - Alice Williams

      • Expressed support for the National Night Out event and provided a reminder that the neighborhood should submit any project sheets as soon as possible if City funding is needed.

      • If any 311 issues have been marked as resolved but have not yet been addressed, please reach out to Ms. Williams for follow up.

      • Crestwood Park - Tennis & Pickle Ball Courts

        • Amy Ware noted concerns about the approval of the Pickleball & Tennis court changes at Crestwood Park.

        • Ms. Williams advised that all feedback on this issue be directed to the Park Board. Their next meeting takes place July 6th at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

        • A petition is available for those in support of maintaining two tennis courts at Crestwood Park.

    • Clairmont Walking Trail Committee - Charles Worthington

      • The committe is planning an upcoming clean up day for the trail. An email will be sent out to committee members when this has been scheduled.

  3. Representatives

    • City Council Representatives

      • Hunter Williams, Councilor, District 2 (Represented by India Bailey)

        • Ms. Bailey noted that the County is doing a flood survey regarding the wide-spread flooding happening around the City.

        • Joint Budget & Finance meeting will be voting on the 2022 budget June 28th.

        • Amy Ware asked about what happened to the ducks and geese at Avondale Park in relation to a report from AL.com.

          • Ms. Bailey noted that she would follow up and look into it.

        • President Worthington asked for an update on World Game statues for the Clairmont Walking Trail.

          • Statues will be placed at downtown trails so Clairmont Walking Trail will not be receiving one.

      • Valerie A. Abbott, Councilor, District 3 (Represented by Dr. Darryl Lee)

        • World Games begin in 10 days.

          • The City’s website has road closure information.

          • Sumo wrestling has sold out, but there are several other sports with tickets available.

        • Funding Allocation

          • Funding allocation from Councilor Abbott’s office will be coming up soon so CSNA needs to come up with project ideas to use allocated funding.

    • School Board

      • Neonta Williams, District 2

        • Not present.

      • Mary Boehm, District 3

        • Not present.
