City Representatives

    • City Council Representatives

      • Hunter Williams, Councilor, District 2 (Represented by India Bailey)

        • Council approved Safe Sleep program.

          • The goal is to provide safe sleeping alternatives for the city's chronically unhoused residents through the purchase of micro-shelters.

        • John Davis asked about updates on the Amphitheater funding on former Carraway site.

          • Ms. Bailey noted that the council will be voting in the near future.

        • Doug Yarborough noted a potential code enforcement issue in the 5800 block of Crestwood Boulevard.

          • Ms. Bailey reported that Councilor Williams’ office is aware of the code violation and is investigating.

        • President Worthington requested an update on the complaints regarding the Cresthill Road speed bumps.

          • Ms. Bailey reported they have relayed complaints to the Department of Transportation.

    • Reported that Neonta Williams has been elected as the new School Board president.

    • Birmingham City Council has approved $1 million dollars for mental health focused programming for Birmingham City Schools.

    • $7 million dollars from the City has been set aside for a pre-K center in the Roebuck area.

    • Mrs. Boehm will share a list of programs that the CSNA can potentially help fund through the neighborhood association’s account.
