Following up on having anti-littering signs put up around neighborhood
VA will be placing an outpatient clinic at the current site of two hotels on Crestwood Blvd to be completed within two years
The VA has signed a 20 year lease for the site
Vice President Murray asked about the maintenance of a sign of a diving woman on the site with historical significance. Councilor Williams said that several people have inquired about it and while it is out of his control he will be sure to relay the significance to those it concerns
Sandy Melof remarked on the importance of finding suitable housing for people that will be relocated due to the demolition of the hotels

The transit pilot program will cost $3/trip
Vice President Murray asked about the city moratorium on self storage facility.
Councilor Abbott said that the moratorium remains in place until January 2
The city is planning to narrow Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd from 4 to 2 lanes and add bike and pedestrian lanes to control traffic and make the area more walkable

State Department of Education moved the grading of Birmingham City Schools from D to C after demonstrating continued progress
Ramsey maintained an A
Glen Iris went from a 65 to a 70
Epic improved from an 82 to 88
Avondale held at a D, decreasing slightly from 68 to 66
Putnam was given a D, improving from 57 to 64
Woodlawn was given a 59
President MacNeil asked what can be done to empower schools to continue to improve. Both Boehm and Councilor Abbott suggested tutoring through the STAIR program.
