Jefferson County is partnering with the Dept. of Health and the City of Bessemer to provide locations for a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. The closest drop off location for Crestwood South residents will be the Habitat for Humanity/ReStore and Alabama Appliance at 7952 Crestwood Blvd. Irondale, AL. There are two additional drop off locations: Gardendale First Baptist Church (South Campus) and the City of Bessemer Public Works Laydown Yard at 1205 15th Ave. North in Bessemer.

Items that can be collected include:

• Ammunition

• Batteries

• Electronics

• Household cooking grease

• Paint

• Paper Shredding

• Pesticides, Herbicides and Fertilizers

• Prescription Drugs

• Tires

• White Goods
